D.W Brown wrote and directed the critically acclaimed indie film ON THE INSIDE, starring Olivia Wilde, Nick Stahl, Dash Mihok and Olivia Wilde. In addition he’s written and directed the short film: ONE CLEAN MOVE starring Harry Hamlin honored at The Taos Film Festival and purchased by The Sundance Channel; THE NEED FOR FLOWERS which received a “Best Actor” nomination at The Method Fest, and CHLOE, a Palm Beach Festival and Rhode Island International Festival selection starring Peter Facinelli and Adam Arkin. He has co-produced the feature films: PERFUME selected for opening night at the Sundance Film Festival and ALLIE AND ME nominated for best picture at the first Hollywood Film Festival and an official selection at SLAMDANCE, The Hamburg Film festival, The Methodfest, The Hawaii Film Festival, The Santa Barbara Film Festival and The Singapore Film Festival,
As an actor, D.W. Brown has starred in FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH, his own series, “JO’S COUSIN (a FACTS OF LIFE spinoff),” and starred in episodic television, such as ER, Twilight Zone, and Sledgehammer. On film he has co-starred in A HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT, opposite Virginia Madsen, PERFUME opposite Jared Harris and THE JOY OF SEX with Christopher Lloyd. He can also be seen on YouTube in the award winning short he wrote and directed, FIELD BOTANIST.
D.W. Brown has extensive writing and directing credits starting with his work with The Ensemble Studio Theater where he developed multiple plays for productions receiving accolades for directing his own works as well as others.

Mr. Brown has coached and trained actors such as Robin Wright, Leslie Mann, Halle Berry Keanu Reeves, and directors such as Sam Raimi. He has taught around the world in London, Paris, Dublin and Edinburgh, and hosted and conducted seminars with actors such as Robert DeNiro, Dustin Hoffman, Anthony Hopkins, Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon, and directors and writers such as Sidney Pollack, Sam Raimi, Oliver Stone, David Mamet and Tom Shadyac. He’s coached some of the most highly regarded actors in the industry on numerous films and provided the first and only acting instruction for many who are now professional actors.
Mr. Brown is also the author of the acclaimed acting guide "You Can Act" and its companion book "You Can Act: On Camera," as well as “2500 Years of Wisdom: Sayings of the Great Masters;” all published by MWP (publishers of “Save The Cat” and “Shot By Shot”).
